The National Cervical Screening Program aims to prevent cervical cancer with regular testing. The Cervical Screening Test looks for human papillomavirus (HPV), a common virus that can cause cervical cancer.
Women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 74 years of age are invited to have a Cervical Screening Test every 5 years through their healthcare provider.
Talk to your healthcare provider about your screening options, including the option of self-collection.
For more information, talk to your doctor or visit the National Cervical Screening Program website.
