Gynaecological Cancers Workforce Initiative
The Centre is currently implementing the Gynaecological Cancers Workforce Initiative.
The objectives of this Initiative are to:
- support a skilled gynaecological cancers workforce; and
- improve outcomes and support for women affected by gynaecological cancers, their families and carers, through piloting the implementation and evaluation of a National Gynaecological Cancer Service Delivery and Resource Framework.
There are three interrelated elements to this Initiative:
1. The development of a National Gynaecological Cancers Service Delivery and Resource Framework that will be developed nationally with the assistance and support of key stakeholders including state and territory government health authorities. This project is being undertaken in partnership with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG);
2. Establishment of state and territory government gynaecological cancers workforce projects that will assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of elements of the framework (click here for a synopsis of each jurisdictional project); and
3. Funding of a National Coordination, Evaluation and Support Service that has been established to strengthen national capacity in gynaecological cancers, coordinate the needs of the state and territory projects, facilitate shared learning and reduce duplication of effort.
