National Advisory Group
Cancer Australia has established the National Centre for Gynaecological Cancers Advisory Group to provide expert advice regarding the issues and activities related to gynaecological cancers and the ongoing work of the Centre.
The Advisory Group:
- identifies barriers to optimal prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care of women with gynaecological cancers;
- identifies where collaborative effort with other cancer control organisations and governments is required to improve outcomes; and
- makes an extensive contribution to the strategic management of the Centre and provides advice on individual projects undertaken as part of the Centre's workplan.
Advisory Group members
The National Centre for Gynaecological Cancers Advisory Group includes consumers, health policy makers, health professionals and researchers with expertise across the cancer continuum in the area of gynaecological cancers.
Members are not representative of a particular group or organisation but are members in their own right because of their experience and expertise. We selected members from nominees from the wide range of consumers, national organisations, colleges and professional groups working to improve gynaecological cancer outcomes. This was to ensure the group is representative of all relevant disciplines, across the cancer control continuum and across Australia. Consumer representatives were selected following a national call for applications from individuals and nominations from cancer consumer groups.
