Overview
The overall purpose of CanNET is to improve outcomes and reduce disparities in outcomes for people affected by cancer by providing high quality, clinically-effective and coordinated cancer services across Australia.
To achieve this, the CanNETs are being supported to challenge existing professional and organisational boundaries, to ensure patient centred and equitable provision of high quality clinically-effective services throughout their region, thus improving cancer outcomes.
CanNETs will address workforce issues through the development of new ways of working for health professionals, especially greater engagement of primary care.
Workforce development (including professional development, clinical leadership and change management) is a key element of cancer service network development. The following resources can be used to guide this work.
