Professional development

Cancer Australia is managing several targeted initiatives to support the cancer care workforce to deliver the best possible care to people affected by cancer now and in the future.

These include:

• development of a national framework and effective continuing professional education modules to improve professional development for cancer professionals, counsellors and general practitioners;
• development of a national framework and training package for cancer nurses;
• initiatives to better engage and support general practitioners in the delivery of cancer care; and 
• a review of the gynaecological cancers workforce and development of training and resources for general practitioners.
